So often we want things instantly and a lot of times those miracle products don’t always bring you the long hair. So we thought we’d give you ten tips on how to grow your hair naturally.
Tip 1# we have to get long hair is to practice good hair habits.
This just generally means daily treatment to your hair, make sure that you take good care of it, don’t brush it too hard, don’t use harsh styling tools with high heat, all the chemicals with colouring and bleaching and perming and all the things we do to our hair they damage our hair we want to make sure that we stay away from that stuff as much as possible. And this also includes putting your hair up in ponytail when its wet or braiding it when its wet and even when you get out of the shower using a towel and just shaking it really hard that can cause a lot of damage. It’s best to squeeze your hair to get the water out so you don’t cause any more further damage.
Tip 2#You should maintain a healthy and balanced diet.
Remember that what you put into your body reflects on what is on the outside so your hair, your nails, your skin, it all reflects on the types of food that you put in. So that includes protein and vegetables and fruit and all that good stuff. And remember hair is a protein so if you have a diet lacking in protein you might experience some shedding or thinning of your own hair.
Tip 3# Fish Oil
So speaking of protein fish oil is also great for hair growth because it actually contains protein. That’s right. It actually nourishes the hair follicle which allows the hair to grow faster and longer. And it also makes your hair shiny and who doesn’t want shiny hair.
Tip 4#Trim your hair.
It is very important to trim your hair often. A common myth that a lot of girls think is “I want to grow my hair so I’m not going to cut it for years” and that is the biggest mistake you can make because when you don’t cut your hair for a long time you develop split ends. So what happens is the split ends continue to split and then it eventually breaks off. So you feel like your hair should be growing and it is but its also breaking so you never really get to see the growth that you should be seeing. Make sure you trim your hair often enough so that you can see the growth.
Tip 5# Nourish your hair follicles.
A great way to do this is to massage your scalp to increase the blood flow. You can do this in the shower when you’re shampooing your hair, or conditioning your hair. It’s really easy to do. It’s a good idea to do this about three times a week.
Tip 6# Not wash your hair daily.
This might sound a little gross but actually it’s really good for your hair and allows hair growth. This is because the shampoo strips the natural oils from your hair which can leave your hair very dry and brittle and susceptible to damage. So after a while of doing this your hair will actually become trained and depends on your hair but sometimes it can last two to three days but there’s also dry shampoos that you can use in between days to kind of help you if you get a little greasy. Eventually once your hair gets trained, you’ll see that its so much shinier and it will feel a lot thicker. And overall it will actually help the health of your hair.
Tip 7# combing your hair properly.
And I actually have quite a bit of experience with this. My hair is naturally a little bit wavy, kind of frizzy so before I shower I comb it with a wide toothed comb, while I’m in the shower with conditioner in it I comb it with a wide toothed comb and after the shower I also comb it with a wide toothed comb. This really helps get the tangles out but it doesn’t damage it because you’re not pulling on the hair too much. So if you are to use a brush especially on wet hair or a different type of comb with thinner or smaller bristles you can actually cause a lot of damage. You can cause breakage even midway or at the top so you have to be really careful. When you’re combing it out make sure you do it slowly and if you do have tangles don’t yank at them, slowly tag at them and try to get them out. Be very gentle with your hair and it will grow.
Tip 8# You should always use a heat protectant before styling.
It’s very important to protect your hair from any kind of heat damage and this is when you’re using flat irons or curling irons or blow dryers. It’s really important to protect the hair because once it has been overheated there’s really nothing you can do to repair it. And if you can, if you’re using a straightener or a curling iron, if you’re able to put the heat on a lower setting it’s always best to do that. Sometimes you might have really stubborn hair like I do but if you happen to have hair that can straighten easy then try to put it as low as the heat as possible.
Tip 9# Choose the correct shampoo for your hair-choose a gentle shampoo.
It’s always important to get a shampoo that’s very mild, something that’s not too harsh, that will strip any colour or natural oils from your hair. It’s always good to know what’s in your shampoo and what it contains and what it can do to your hair. That’s right, they are some to pretty scary ingredients to shampoos so make sure you keep an eye out.
Tip 10#Use a deep conditioning treatment often.
It can actually help hydrate your strands and actually make them stronger. So when you’ve gone too far and damaged your hair with chemical process and the styling tools a really good deep conditioner will bring it back to life. And that’s exactly what you want. It will help you get that long hair that you want.
